  • A scheduling preference form will be sent out upon enrollment allowing pilots to mark their preferred:

    • Time of day to fly

    • How many hours per week they’d like to fly

    • If they’d like to be partnered or fly solo

The minimum time for aircraft rental is 1 block (3 hours) and the maximum time for aircraft rental is 4 blocks (12 hours) per 24 hour period. You should plan your rest to be 10 hours in any 24 hour period. It is highly encouraged to take a week off from flying every 200 hours.

Note: An aircraft will be removed from scheduling for scheduled and unplanned maintenance. If you are scheduled to fly during this period you will not be charged.

Depending on your preferences, you may be matched with another pilot to split the hourly rate. It will be up to the two of you how to split your time between sole manipulator and safety pilot.

  • ‘No Shows’ for a scheduled flight will be charged for the full block(s) missed at the full single rate or crew rate you were scheduled for.

  • Scheduling runs on a 24/7 basis.

  • The FAA allows pilots utilizing a view limiting device (hood, foggles…) to require a safety pilot. FAR 61.51(e) allows both the sole manipulator of the controls and the acting PIC safety pilot to BOTH log PIC time. Therefore, essenially all but the taxi, takeoff, and landing can be logged as PIC for both pilots. This allows both pilots splitting their hourly rate to log the majority of time as PIC during the time one pilot is instrument training wearing his/her view limiting device.

Planes and maintenance:

  • Our fleet consists of modern Cessna 172 Skyhawks with G1000s, an electronic primary flight display, multifunction display, and two-axis autopilot.

All planes are highly maintained by our certified A&P/IAs. We complete 100 hour inspections to include oil changes at each inspection, and our engines are overhauled at TBO or sooner.

  • Pilots must be under 230lbs to fly as a ‘crew’

Note: If you exceed 230 lbs, you may only fly uncrewed at the full hourly rate.

  • We above and beyond with aircraft maintenance.

While 100 hour inspections aren’t required, we still do them to ensure peak aircraft performance and safety.

Complying with factory recommendations, at TBO or sooner we overhaul our engines.

Aircraft exteriors and interiors are refurbished every 3 years.

  • Aircraft maintenance will be blocked out of the schedule as far in advance as possible in order to prevent scheduling conflicts.
